Herbed Cardamom Peas

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups peas
- water, to cover peas for boiling
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon marjoram, crumbled
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom, ground
- 3 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 teaspoons fresh chives, snipped in 1 in pieces (optional)
Directions
- 1 Place the peas in a saucepan and cover with water.
- 2 Boil the peas for as long as you prefer (I only cook about 5 minutes).
- 3 Meanwhile, in a small bowl mix together the salt, pepper, marjoran and cardamom.
- 4 Drain the peas, then return them to the saucepan (off the heat).
- 5 Sprinkle the spice mixture and parsley over them and mix well.
- 6 Remove to serving bowl and top with the chives (if using); serve immediately!
