Freezer Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 cup onion, diced
• 8 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
• 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano or 3/4 teaspoon ground oregano
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1 bay leaf
• 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions

• 1 In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil on medium heat. Add onion and garlic and saute until just soft, not browning.
• 2 Add the remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes, or until sauce is desired consistency.
• 3 Use a stick blender or food processor if you prefer a smooth consistency.
